Gate Damage

As you may have noticed, we have had several instances recently where the gate and/or gate arm has been broken. We apologize for any inconveniences that may have occurred while we were awaiting repairs, and greatly appreciate your patience.

The entry gate is a premium feature of our community, and we strive to keep it in good working order.

When property damage occurs, we do review surveillance video with our courtesy officer to identify the person(s) responsible, and a minimum $100 fine is assessed.

Guest Entry

When you have a guest come to the gate, please instruct them as to how to use the gate kiosk. They may scroll to your name and hit call, or enter your 3 digit ID, at which point the kiosk will call directly to whatever number you have provided.

You may talk to the person at the gate, verify their identity, and press “9” to open the gate remotely. If you do not know your 3 digit ID, please contact our Welcome Center, and we can provide it to you. If your phone number has not been entered into the gate system, please make arrangements to meet your guests at the gate to allow them access.

If you witness anyone following others through the gate, or otherwise violating community policies, please inform us immediately, providing the time and a description of the vehicle. If you have any questions about the entry gate, please contact our Welcome Center.

Gate Protocol

When you arrive at the gate and swipe your access card, please allow the arm to raise fully before you begin to advance. The gate arm must lower completely before the next person swipes his/her access card in order to ensure that the timing on the gate arm allows residents to go through.

Piggy-backing, or following closely behind another vehicle, passing another vehicle while entering the front gate, and entering through the exit are strictly prohibited.

To prevent others from following you through the gate, we recommend entering as far to the right as possible, slowing to allow the gate arm to lower behind your vehicle before continuing home.

Violations to gate protocol will result in access to resident amenities being limited or revoked. Violators to gate protocol may receive a police citation, and non-residents may be charged with trespassing.

Pool Hours

We are happy to announce that the pool is now open year round. While the pools are not heated, enjoying a refreshing swim on warmer fall or spring days is now an option. Of course, the pool decks and gas grills will also continue to be available from 10am-10pm daily.

After-School Snack Ideas

After a long day at school, kids may need a little “pick-me-up” snack to keep going.

Choosing a healthy snack will not only ensure that your child will be taking in the proper vitamins and nutrients, but can lead to choosing better diet options in the future.

Use this as an opportunity to incorporate fruit, vegetables and whole wheat into your child’s diet.

  • Fresh-cut Veggies and
    Ranch Dressing
  • Cottage Cheese and Peaches
  • Popcorn
  • Trail Mix
  • Ham and Cheese Wrap
  • Frozen bananas dipped in Yogurt
  • Frozen Grapes
  • Apples and Peanut Butter
  • Whole Wheat Crackers with Cheese
  • Fresh Fruit Smoothie
  • Granola or Cereal Bars
  • Hummus and Pita Chips

Sundaes on Sunday

Students are back to school, nights are getting longer, and the weather is getting cooler. The summer is winding down.

Join the Auston Woods team for a late summer treat on Sunday, September 8th. We will have ice cream and toppings at the Phase II Clubhouse from 5:30-6:30pm, or while supplies last.

Pick Up After Your Pooch

We love our four-legged residents, but have recently noticed several areas where pet waste is not being properly disposed of. Not only is pet waste an eyesore, but it can also cause unpleasant odors and spread disease.

For the safety of all residents and pets, we ask that you please be sure to pick up pet waste when walking your dog. Failure to pick up after your pet will result in a $25 fine per occurrence. For your convenience, there are pet waste stations located throughout the community.

Let Us Know.
We Want to Grow.

If you have had a work order completed recently, you may have received a Resident Survey Card.

Please take a few minutes to complete a short online survey to let us know how we are doing, or if there is anything you would like to see done differently. You may complete a survey now at www.HHHuntSurveys.com. Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

Back to School Reminders

A new school year has started. With children going to and from the bus stop at the front of the community, we ask that everyone please be aware of your speed when driving through the community. The speed limit on Auston Crossing Dr. is 15 mph, and the recommend speed in the parking lots is 10 mph.

School buses are out in full force. Remember that pedestrians have the right-of-way, and always yield to school buses. For those who commute during the early morning and mid-afternoon times, try to allow yourselves some extra time in anticipation of bus traffic.

RAC/Short-Term Furnished Unit

The Resident Activity Center and Short-Term Furnished Unit are available for residents to rent. The Resident Activity Center is ideal for any function and is available for $150 for up to 4 hours.

The Short-Term Furnished Unit is a fully-furnished 2 bedroom apartment home, and is a wonderful option for visiting friends and family at only $75/night. These amenities are in high demand, so contact the Welcome Center early for availability.

Office Hours

In observance of Labor Day, the Welcome Center will be closed on Monday, September 2nd. We will reopen at 9am on Tuesday, September 3rd. Rent payments may be placed in the drop box.

If you have an emergency, please call our Emergency Maintenance Line at 704-684-0725. We hope you have a safe and happy weekend.

Maintenance Tip of the Month

Believe it or not, cooler weather is just around the corner! As the weather cools down, many of you will be turning on your heat for the first time.

To give the unit time to adjust to the change, please leave the unit “Off” for 5 minutes when switching from “Cool” to “Heat”. Because the heating elements have been unused for several months, dust may have accumulated on the element.

The first time you turn on the unit, the dust may heat up and cause smoke and a burning smell. This is normal. If the smoke detector goes off, you may need to open the windows to allow the apartment to clear out. For normal use, however, please do not have the heating/air conditioning unit running while the windows are open, as this can cause additional wear and tear to the unit.
